great beer, inventive but subtle dosed on the green tea, or matcha, or whatever tea element is in here, its really solid and also exceedingly drinkable, they didnt flavor it to oblivion, smart recipe, i dig this! an incredibly light and very well refined rice lager, lots to like about this, very tidy, just hardly blonde at all, so pale, racing carbonation, a full inch of white head on top from the tap, really looks delicate. the nose is mellow too, especially when its frosty cold, a hint of the tea element, dry and herbal and maybe slightly concentrated to me, matcha-esque, but way back, complimentary grassy hops are in this too, the rice is light and floral without being starchy in the least, and there is no sweetness here at all, clean minerality, close to neutral on the lager yeast side of things, but a little doughy aspect there, really polished and tight. the flavor is tidy and delicious too, but the tea does come out a bit more as it warms up, bitter but not really, light citrus and hay and grass to it, fresh in a way, dusty in another, obvious as green tea, vegetal and organic in a neat way, feels almost healthy to me, and is really lovely with what the rice brings to this, subtle white flowers, i get a little green pear fruitiness here too, dry as a bone to drink, a champagne thing to it too at the end, light tea and hop bitterness together, thirst quenching all the way. the body is so light but yet with all the carbonation and interest on the palate, it doesnt feel watery or vacuous in the least, love the life this has. so drinkable, the tea is an accent to an already light beer, it doesnt take over, and i think thats just right for drinkability. i will look forward to my next couple pints of this one, really tastefully done and nicely lagered, spot on.
