Tonight is/has turning/turned into CANQuest (tm) Lager Night here at Chez Woody! It was hot & humid when I arrived home from work & I took an energizing nap only to be CANfronted with oppressive heat & humidity. Lagers seemed like a valid answer in response. A tip o' the Wood to my local, in-person trader, tone77, for dropping this off. He deferred to me to get it added and add a pic, but here we are.
Man, what a surprise! Crack! the CAN & watch as it spritzes and foams unCANtrollably. A novice might CANic in the face of all of this action, but I knew to let it vent and then CANduct the Glug. It might have been overfilled or the ambient temperature was not to its liking, or a CANbination thereof, but patience is all in such cirCANstances. I could not pinpoint the source of the uproar, but once even moderate calming evidenced itself, a quick Glug needed to happen. It foamed up, as to be expected, but it knew its limits and stopped at the rim of my awaiting glass. I ended up with just under three fingers of puffy, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with light retention. I'm telling you, the humidity is doing us all in tonight. Color was Yellow - Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity & in a trice, The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus were in my kitchen, clamoring for a taste. Nose was faint and light, sweetish, but hard to really grasp. Mouthfeel was medium, but soft. I may be getting soft, but I had some really hard-hitting beers this past weekend and my tongue suffered as a result. Bruised, beaten, battered & sore. Tenderized, more like. The taste was surprisingly unobtrusive. It was light and refreshing, but I had girded myself for a Minhas-like debacle or some other type of unpleasantness. This was not heavy on adjuncts, especially not corn, with a light toasted maltiness and a light grassiness. It was a nice, pleasant beer on a summer evening. Finish was semi-dry to dry, but again, it was mostly unobtrusive. You CAN do MUCH worse! Believe me, I have drank them.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is corn, grains. Taste is malts, corn, refreshing but kind of bland. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer, but at this price point, I can't complain.
