Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a fine, three finger white head that continues to build after the pour, then slowly dissipates leaving rocky lacing. Looks nice. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit hops with a little dankness, orange, pineapple, mixed fruit and a touch of pine and catty dankness. Flavor is citrus and dank hops, grapefruit, pine, herbal dankness, mild mixed tropical fruit; fine assertive bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A quite nice modern style West Coast IPA with just a touch of tropical fruit notes, but plenty of citrus, pine and dankness. Interestingly, the aroma is dominated by citrus and mixed fruit, but the flavor has much more pine and dankness. I'm pleased by the assertive bitterness that lingers in the finish. Almost an old fashioned profile, but has some fruit and a little drier, but substantial malt body. Well done and a good introduction to this brewery.
