White Sails Brewing

Spacious, airy taproom at the north end of old downtown Nanaimo, overlooking a waterfront park. Short but solid selection of draft offerings (growler and bomber bottles to go) along with a local guest tap. Good offering of hoppy ales: pale, IPA and Cascadian styles. Limited but good selection of beer snacks from nearby Nesvog Meats. Friendly and helpful service.

 

Another great place to visit if on the Island. It's a fairly new spot, but the location is awesome (right by the ferry) and a slick looking space. The beers were all solid and I would definitely recommend for anyone in the area. Thumbs up!

Happened to be in Nanaimo for a tournament at the local University and a group of us stopped by. Located across from a nice downtown waterfront park, the big Now Open sign drew our attention to the large white building. Walking inside you're greeted by an wall length fireplace and lots of wood beams and wood accents. The music was loud but not loud enough that we had to yell over it. They had stacks of board games for patrons to use and almost every table there had a group playing some sort of game. They had a nice selection of beers, 6 I think, as well as wine and soda. Being a tasting room and not a restaurant the food selection was a bit limited but that was to be expected. A nice little place that I look forward to visiting again when I make my way to Vancouver Island.
