Hazy yellow-straw color. Poured a short head that became mixed size bubbles after half a minute and then a thin patchy skiff after another half a minute. Moderate-light flow of tiny bubbles; hard to see due to the haze. Left no lacing.
Light malt, a touch of yeast, and something that smells a tiny bit floral. Swirling the glass kicked up a bit of barnyard.
Sweet and malty flavor. Some light floral hops and a bit of a fruity flavor. Mild bitters as it warms up a bit. The aftertaste is a stronger bitter and floral.
Very light tongue tingling. It took a while to turn into a coarse foam. Light body.
A Helles should not be hazy. This is a departure from the Helles that was the default beer when living in Europe. The barnyard is quite off-putting. This is a dirty cousin of the clean, crisp flavor in the homeland of Helles. I did enjoy it, but the low score is a reference to not being true to style.

Six Pack cans 355 ml
Served in a Large Tempelier tulip glass
My new favourite weekend brew.
Halles. So... bright colour, slightly sweet but complex with a backbone of hops always there.
Flavour gets more malty as it warms up. A whirlwind of flavours and no two sips are quite the same, Taking a break from IPA's and stouts and tripels so this seems to fit the bill.
The Halles style seems to be ever so trendy in Berlin this year, and maybe these local guys are right onto the trend.
