Trading Post Brewing 'Best Coast IPA' @ 6.5% , served from a 473 ml can
A-pour is gold from the can to a clear gold in the glass with a medium size white head leaving a fine spotty lace along the tulip
S-Centennial , Columbus , & Simcoe hops leads to mostly pine & some citrus notes
T-clean & crisp IPA , with a bitter dry finish
MF-ok carbonation , feels full bodied
Ov-we truly are the Best Coast

Clear pale yellow-tan color. Poured a medium sized head. The head collapsed to mixed size bubbles in half a minute and down to a patchy skiff after another half a minute. Medium flow of tiny sized bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Left no lacing.

Smells of a light barnyard blended with a medium malt. Light bread dough yeast scent after the barnyard dissipates. Little bit of vegetal hops. Swirling the glass made the barnyard and the hops stronger. The barnyard has a more pleasant character than most. Even though it is quite strong, I do not find this variant to be offensive.

Starts off with a malt flavor that stands up well with the medium bitters that grow stronger as it warms up. A touch of something sweet. Slight citrus flavor, and maybe a touch of pine or spruce resin like someone was drinking retsina while making the beer and spilled a bit. The aftertaste is a much stronger bitter with more citrus and then a bit of malt.

Somewhat flat, hardly foamed up at all. Medium body. A bit astringent.

I'm not sure I was in the right mind set to try out an IPA. I had come back from a hard bike ride and was feeling more like relaxing than being challenged to a fight by an aggressive beer. But this was next on my tasting calendar, so there it is. Nice beer, but I think I will skip the rest of the pack for a while.
