Brewed at Brew Detroit.
Stroh's Bohemian Style Pilsner is an updated homage to the original recipe Bernhard Stroh brought with hime when he first emigrated to The United States from Germany in 1848. This is the first beer produced in Detroit, by the Stroh Brewery Co. in over 30 years. Since, the original Stroh brewery closed its doors in 1984.
First brewed in 1850, today's Stroh's Bohemian Style Pilsner is updated for today's consumer. The result? A crisp, balanced pilsner, with a nice floral aroma and subtle hop spice from Noble hops, and a rich, bready maltiness from pilsner malt.
This is a sessionable pilsner at 5.5%. That is perfect for drinking occasions ranging from tailgates & BBQ to holiday gatherings.

I'm pretty sure Pabst meant for these to be nostalgia beers for old Michiganders, but I love the Bohemian pilsner. I've had countless six packs since graduating college and moving to Michigan a couple years ago. It's heftier and more substantial than a bud light, and useful when I'm not up for a two hearted. I definitely taste the alcohol in the back of my throat, in a pleasant way. I typically drink them straight from the bottle, but the one time I poured it into a glass, my dad (a Michigan native) walked by and recognized the smell of stroh's. After 30 some years! I'd say they matched the smell pretty close to the original.

It’s easy to be dismissive of Stroh’s because of their flagship beer. This however is not their flag ship beer. It is also not bad. It tastes like beer not like a bunch of adjunct garbage. If you have a chance, I would recommend grabbing a bottle.

Been wanting to try for over a year, thanks go to some friends that have a vacation cabin in Waters, MI for bringing me some back to Ohio. Dark yellow gold color with full head head and lots of foamy lacing.when poured in pilsner glass. No bottled date. Bready, hint of malt aroma. Had some light lingering bitterness. Full body and character. Smooth taste, less harsh tasting than some other premium lagers. Could not find Up North and did locate a six pack in SE Mich. Clerk at liquor store said he only gets a few cases on occasion from distributor. Looking forward to the next 6 pk. Cheers!

I have a soft spot for Stroh’s as it was, in fact, my first beer. Selecting that royal blue can with the lion on the crest and thinking “It has a Lion on it, that means it’s probably good!” Looking back on it now I realize that there area very few things from Detroit that adorn a lion as part of their logo that can truly be classified as good.

This was actually not a bad beer. Tasted better than many other macro lagers. Darker amber color with a little lingering head and very spotty lacing. Smells of malt, corn and grain. Tastes similarly, along with some faint hops of some kind. Maybe a little caramel and white bread as well. Just a hint of bitterness, quite pleasant. Mild mouthfeel and good carbonation. Seems slightly more sophisticated than the typical pilsner.

My old neighbor from Oswego gave me a bottle of this. It poured a clear golden with fizzy white head that dissipated and left no lace. The scent had faint grain and grass. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with grain finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

5.5% abv, 33 ibus.
Pours out to a sparkingly clear bright medium golden forming a tall rocky white head with beautiful retention and excellent lacing. Moderate carbonation, about 2.5 to 3 carbs. The nose is delicate with freshly Mown hay, Grassy hops and dust. The mouth feel is medium bodied, easy to drink. The taste is a recap of the aroma. Table cracker. There is a medium firm bitterness, I detect corn but it could be DMS.
Overall somewhere between a macro brew domestic adjunct lager and a craft American lager. Not bad for a macro.

Pours a clear crisp straw color. Thinnish white head dissipates steadily leaving some spotty foam on top of the beer with a thicker ring around the outside.
Aroma has notes of bread and cracker malts, a hint of honey like sweetness and just a touch of spicy hops.
Taste follows the nose with a nice backbone of white bread, pilsner malts, and some spicy hops on the finish. Bitterness builds as the beer is consumed. Not much in the way of sweetness. Minerally flavor comes through.
Mild to moderate carbonation. Somewhat dry throughout not just on the finish.
Overall a quite nice pilsner. Very enjoyable beer that hits all the right notes.
