Seabird is a highly sessionable, premium India Pale Ale, brewed with Magnum, Citra, Cascade, and Mosaic hops. The beer takes its name from Captain Fredrick Pabst’s last steamship, which was a catalyst in his decision to enter the beer business. Caught near the shore in December of 1863 during an unexpected storm, Captain Fredrick Pabst strategically beached "The Seabird" on the sands of Whitefish Bay on Lake Michigan without casualties. With irreversible damage to The Seabird, Captain Pabst made the fateful decision to walk away from the sea. Hanging up his captain hat, he purchased a brewery that would eventually bare his name and deliver some of the most iconic American beer brands of all time.

A - Medium gold color with light carbonation and thin white lacing.
S - Sweet cereal grain malt with light citrus and chalky hop aroma.
T - Some mineral presence, light citrus and delicate citrus bitterness.
M - Very thick.
O - The can is stamped on the bottom, have no idea what it says because the ink is so slurred, I'm down with re-visiting this beer because it has the Pabst label on it.

I'm an IPA freak and this just isn't hoppy enough for me. Purchased four-pack of 16-oz cans at a Wisconsin liquor store. Appealing can design and color.
Color and head are good, deep golden copper with rich head.
A clean, crackery, bready malt hit my nose first, but on my second pass I got citrus and pine. Once my nose was broke-in to it, all of those blended into an appealing "light IPA" aroma.
The taste is much better than plain Pabst, but about what I expected. It's average, and one of the least interesting IPAs I've had. The hop flavor is muted, which is what I don't like in an IPA. There is good backbone to the taste, and it has flavor, almost malt-dominant but not quite, just not what I want in an IPA. Your mileage may vary.
Mouthfeel is light but substantial. Not watery, not heavy.
Pabst put some thought into this beer, and I can see a lot of people liking it, especially people who aren't real big on high-IBU IPAs. 4.5% alcohol content makes it easy-drinking and sessionable. I will say it's the best beer I've ever had with the Pabst name on the label, for what little that's worth, and really, I'm impressed that Pabst put this product out there.
Don't let my review put you off this beer. Give it a try and you may really like it, and I won't point at you and laugh if you do. For me, I don't think I'll ever buy it again, but I won't turn it down if it's offered.

16 oz can poured into my Bass Imperial pint glass. The beer is a chill hazed copper with a dense off-white head. There is some nice lacing on the glass.
It has an inviting aroma of pine, citrus and caramel malts.
This is a nice example of an old school IPA. I’m guessing there are both cascade and centennial hops as there is a distinct pine and grapefruit taste. The beer is balanced by some semi-sweet cracker type of taste with just hit of caramel in the background.
It is super easy to drink and has a medium-to-medium thin mouth that has just a bit of oily coating for your tongue.
I hope Pabst keeps this in their everyday line-up. Bring back Old Tankard and you are on your way to a nice variety pack!

Pours a golden color with a nice head. There is citrus and pine on the nose. Taste is pretty straight forward IPA, nothing spectacular and nothing offputting. A decent session IPA. It does kind of remind me of Pabst APA with the rough edges knocked off. This is much better.
