Wow! What a pleasant surprise. This pale ale (NEIPA) really nails it’s across the board. And initially I thought the can I bought was going to be really fresh but it was actually 2 months old. Figure that a fresher can the aroma would jump a little more. Highly recommend for haze bro’s that like some malt and slight crispness in finish of their hoppy beers.

I got a late start on NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I promised that NBS (Week 775) would be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride!
From the CAN: "A danktastic citrusy hop bomb in the new American Pale Ale family. "Thirstay" is brewed with excessive amount [of] Citra, Amarillo, and Galaxy, resulting in a hopped up Pale with notes of orange sherbet, papaya and resiny grapefruit dopeness."
I was CANxious to Crack! open the vent on this one since the last one had left me jonesing for more hoppy goodness. My goodness! It usually doesn't bother me as I just chalk it up to a never-ending itch that I just generally ignore. After so many days of Tarts/Sours/Stouts et al, the monkey on my back beCAN to screech & there is only one way to shut him up. I beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug using all of my willpower not to just dump it in and get started. 8=O I was rewarded with the formation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with very good retention, leaving a load of lacing in its wake. Color was Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, calling forth The Gelt Gang of Midas, Croesus & Mammon, all CANxious for a taste. Nose was VERY citrusy with notes of grapefruit, lemon & even a little lime. It was spritzy & enticing & so I was ready. Mouthfeel was medium. Man, this was tasty for an APA! I fully got what they were talking about as far as "orange sherbet". Mmm. Papaya? Not so much. Finish was dry and lingered with a grapefruit & pine hoppiness. Color me happy. YMMV.

Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.
Big fat rich four finger head, clumping in with an off white color, and a big amount of retention. Body color manages an opaque muted orange, hints slightly at brown as well.
Good solid aroma. Whispy light touches of malt, but a bit granular, with a very nice citrus profile on the hop angle which is noticeable and bends towards lime and lemon flavors. Hints a lot of zest and citrus oil as well.
Palate hits the right notes. Bright touches of lemon and orange flavors on first sip. Real big citrus bitterness with oily brightness and some soft caramel malt sweetness to match as well. Pretty robust body for a pale ale, with a good chewy texture and hints almost into cookie and biscuit flavors, but provides a good backbone for the hops to showcase.
Very solid pale ale to be had.

This is a really solid pale ale with an impressive amount of tropical fruit and citrus aroma and flavor. Nicely balanced at 6% abv with a clean malt backbone.

12 ounce can poured into one of those annoying, thin glasses that's shaped like a can.
Rather hazy pour, light amber with a white and retentive head.
An aggressive aroma that I can smell from a few feet away: bright and balanced, with a contemporarily fruity hop profile against some grainy yeast. Nothing particularly new, but well done for what it is.
Tastes quite good, actually. One of the better contemporary, fruit-forward IPAs I've had in a while. Mango and pineapple hops up front, with the hop profile getting more traditionally bitter as the sweeter malt nodes come into play near the middle, finishing yeasty with some lingering fruit. It strikes a nice balance between sweeter, fruiter nodes, more bitter and resinous hops, and bread yeast.

This is beer review number 4,000 for me. Well done Paul, well done. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a hazy, dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of pineapple, mango, citrus. Taste is juicy, grapefruit, pineapple, light malts and mango. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a tasty and highly drinkable beer that I could spend all night consuming.
