Pours a ruddy, leathery brown with just under a finger of sandy tan head. Decent retention and modest lacing.
Orange peel, raisins, dates, leather, light toffee and light hops in the nose.
Leather, dates, vanilla and bread pudding show up front in the taste. Modest pine bitterness mixed with the orange peel and just a peck of alcohol in the finish. Plenty of complexity, and very nice balance of sweet and earthy flavors.
Light to medium bodied with a slightly creamy feel and moderate carbonation.
This is a really well executed beer. The orange peel lends an almost Christmasy feel to it, although with none of the over-the-top spices. Worth seeking out.

Pours a clear ruby shade with amber hues. Smell is fruity overall- raisin, cranberry, orange. Also a slight nuttiness though no alcohol heat. Taste is caramel, nuts, tobacco, fruity notes towards a dry finish. As a whole the taste is very sweet though ends with more of a dryness. Like with the nose, there is no heat to the taste. Mouthfeel is lively, yet smooth. Not oily or creamy but has a decent body, feels appropriate for the style. I got this can on a whim but I'm really impressed. I'll buy a 4 pack next time I head to the bottle shop.
