Thick, slick and sybaritic. We present to you a 10.5% imperial stout brewed with Greek masters of the dark arts, Seven Island Brewery.
A plethora of speciality malts, including Mild Ale, Munich, Abbey, Cara Munich3, Caraaroma and Rye, combined with a higher mash ph has cast light on the shadowed planes of dark beer recipe writing. Full bodied and holding an abundance of complex flavours, this imperial stout journeys through flavours of red berry coffee, raisin, fig, caramelised apple, bitter dark chocolate and warming roast character. We’ve recirculated the beer through de-shelled pistachio nuts, adding subtle notes of wood, pine and honey.

L- Effectively jet black, pours with a beyond-tan brown head that's fleeting due to the ABV%
S- Alcohol! Pungent, before anything else, then some charring and coffee.
T- Charring, whisps of smoke, somewhere between cocoa and coffee. The alcohol is blasting through, staggeringly so!
F- Punchy for sure, but not OTT on the richness. The ABV% is a complete blaster of an aspect. Feel is slow-sippin' winter beer.
O- Big, deep, punchy, fights WELL above it's weight for it's ABV. - Is this good or bad, you decide, some say it 'lacks class' for the ABV% to shout so loudly, IDK. I've had beers over 15%ABV and yet this at 'a mere 10.5%' might have the biggest ABV-punch of all I've had to date.
... I wonder if I can ignite this thing....
Bought from TremblingMadness/York as part of a DIY mixed case for home delivery. 440ml £6.50 can BB: 06/04/2022. ps. I expect some people who favour and rate well loudness/impact/drama will be voting this higher than me - meanwhile I've an eye on balance and versatility < Ie would I wish to enjoy this weekly say 'for the rest of my life'.... no, not with this one.
