The Lumberjack Goes Nuts

Very dark brown in colour, cloudy. The head is brown, high and incredibly persistent. Composed of fine bubbles, it leaves a vivid trail on the glass.
The aroma is distinctly hoppy – there are citrus notes and a hint of the forest. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa and a lovely scent of hazelnuts emerge upon the first sip.
The flavour is initially chocolatey and sweet, but is soon countered by a coffee-like and slightly resinous bitterness. And although the bitterness isn’t particularly high, it is nevertheless the main attribute of the flavour.
Moderate carbonation. Medium body. The texture is smooth, ‘slippery’ and velvety. The finish is long, dry, with notes of coffee, nuts and chocolate.
