First appeared on the menu in mid-November 2007, it's called "Yankee" because they threw in a whole bunch of whole leaf cascade hops. Comes out a luscious hazy cola-copper hue under a 1/2 finger tan head that lasts forever, generating sheets of lace all the way down the glass. The nose is a symphony of pine and cinnamon. The mouth is very heavy and mildly carbonated, leaving a syrupy film around the mouth that amplifies the flavors long after the liquid is gone. Sublime taste, starting with some sweet malt but quickly moving to bone dry pine sap. The bitter reaches crescendo just after the swallow, then fades slowly and enticingly to traces of coriander and nutmeg. This beer strikes me as why too bitter for the style it claims to be, but it sure is delicious - a great winter warmer.
