Very dark coppery color with fine-grained foam in the Stella Artois goblet. Distinct taste of the rye spice and bitterness. Malty and a little sweet to start. Thick and sudsy mouthfeel is quite pleasing. Whatever the hops they use, they provide quite a bitter aftertaste. This is more like an extremely bitter IPA than a Pale Ale, not to mention the high alcohol content. This is interesting, and with less bittering hops would have been excellent. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.
