Draft: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light smoked malt with some sweet wheat malt notes is quite enticing. Taste is a mix of light smoked malt with some sweet wheat malt with some cloves ester also noticeable. Body is pretty full for style with good carbonation. Interesting take on the style with good level of complexity and drinkability.

An interesting combination of Witbier and smoked malt. Fruity also, but not hoppy. Refreshing when served really cold.

Poured to a pokal glass.
A: Body is yellow and hazy. Head is white, half a finger thick and leaves no lacing.
S: Ginger is very prominent and forward. There's a small touch of smoke due to the smoked malts. But the aroma is really very gentle.
T: Taste starts off with a very prominent profile of ginger. There's also a very light smoked touch. In the back, a small malty touch.
M: Body is small to medium. Carbonation is spot on. Alcohol is unnoticed. Sweetness and bitterness is mild.
O: Can I say that this is my favourite Witbier?

Smoked witbier.
On-draught @ Catraio in Porto, Portugal. Regrettably brief notes below:
A: Pale yellow body. Fizzy Off-white cap. 4 minute retention.
Sm: Wheat. Lemon citrus. Vague harshness.
No readily identifiable smoke. I find no coriander, clove, of other distinct spice.
T&Mf: Lemony acidity. Citrus. Wheat. Clean barley. Belgian yeast with concomitant esters. Balanced, enjoyabke, simple.
No smoke here at all.
Smooth, wet, light-bodied, well-carbonated. Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, harsh, rough, or scratchy.
O: Drinkable and pleasant. I did hope for some smoke given it's billed as a smoked witbier. Nice for what it is.
