a: golden amber color with a bit of chill haze. poured a very nice 3-4 finger round off-white head that faded quickly
s: some nice crisp caramel malt sweetness followed by a faint earthy note. crusty bread and dry crackers behind that. a touch of pepper spice and that lager crispness. kiss of sweet generic citrus (not hoppy)
t: crisp grains and grass upfront followed by a smooth caramel sweetness. bready doughy backbone notes and a crisp lager spice. very faint herbal hop note and just the absolute slightest green apple note
m: light mouthfeel with strong carbonation
o: average Dortmunder - nothing more nothing less

12 oz can from a 6-pack purchased at the brewery.
Deep gold with brilliant clarity. You can tell this beer has been lagered properly. Unfortunately, the head is small and fizzles out quickly. Carbonation has been an issue in cans I've purchased from Alementary in the past and this was another one. The brewery needs to get this figured out.
Sweet pils malt makes up most of the aroma with some very light spicy/floral hops. Flavor follows suit but there is a heavy mineral character (or at least I think that's what it is), likely from a change in water chemistry. Medium bodied and smooth.
If the carbonation was right, this could be a killer Export style lager. I'd like to try this on tap at the brewery to compare.
