A: Pours an extremely murky deep reddish purple in color with moderate to heavy amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate deep purple + ruby red + cranberry colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy medium to dark pink head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Strong aromas of sweet, slightly tart berries (Boysenberry, Elderberry, Black Currant, Raspberry, Blackberry, Blueberry) with a very light aroma of slightly sour wheat malts + lacto lemon citrus + light lactose sweetness. Light aromas of vanilla.
T: Upfront there are very light flavors of slightly sour wheat malts + lacto lemon citrus + light lactose sweetness. Strong flavors of sweet, slightly tart berries (Boysenberry, Elderberry, Black Currant, Raspberry, Blackberry, Blueberry) with a light flavor of vanilla. No perceptible hop presence and no bitterness though there is a light to moderate lingering berry tartness in the finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thick/pulpy with a light to moderate amount of acidic prickliness.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol - reminds me of a berry smoothie crossed with a Berliner Weisse crossed with a milkshake IPA (at least the milkshake part). Very enjoyable with really wonderful berry flavors and aromas. Definitely the best beer I have had from this brewery and I hope they do more beers in this vein.
