Breaking barriers in taste as much as equality, the brewers of Bhramari take Imperial Stout to a whole new level.
Jet black and pouring with the viscosity of molasses, Black is Beautiful patiently builds a creamy tan blanket of froth. Hovering over it lies a rich scent of espresso, cocoa, vanilla cream, a tingle of booze and dark fruit nuances. With the first sip, the malt influence is evident, coating the tongue with the sweetness of molasses, honey, chocolate, marshmallow and toffee.
As the dark and luscious ale settles onto the tastebuds, the more roasted components abound with dark roast coffee, bittersweet chocolate, candied walnut, roasted marshmallow and burnt toast. As the flavors move along, a fruitiness of grilled dark berries and grapes can be found along with the spice of anise, sarsaparilla and whisky. With a bitter late palate, the hops are no slouch, finishing with a broad and woodsy grip in the throat.
Undoubtedly full, lavish and decadent, the absolute chewy stout finishes long and plush with sweetened roasted malt while lingering long and savory with smoky chocolate, a slight licorice rebound, and a pleasantly hot prickle on the palate.
