Drank at the brewery today tapped on NITRO; the taproom menu listed this beer at 5.0% ABV and 26 IBUs; lacks aroma but excellent balance of cherrywood smoked and dark malts

Near black in color where no light passes through the glass, even on the edge. Superb lasting head (I love nitro) which leaves a thick blanket for lace.
More dark Porter to the nose than smoked. I get burnt black patent malt first with a bit of Baker's chocolate. In the background, I detect a touch of smoke which I declare is just about perfect.
The taste mimics the nose except that I get some dark cherry on the back of the palate. Pretty strong "carbonation" for a nitro pour. The body is on the thin side. The aftertaste is only slightly smoky -- I get more burnt elements than smoke.
