Was expecting a lil bit kore from this to be honest - although I might have been on the wrong track. The best helles is made in Germany so sorry Austria but the Gut Besser Gösser might not be able to cut it. I mean it’s not bad, it certainly does have some features that remind me of a helles (smell and taste) and I’ve had similar helles from Germany - so maybe I should say it is aok.
Has some bready notes in the aroma and the flavor reminds me of apple juice somehow… guess it might have more malts in there to give it that feel?
Will have to go back to the original Gösser once for comparison, if I ever come across it again.

Pours a clouded pale golden color with a huge, froth head atop.
Smells of old nickels, mashed potatoes and wet grass among soft straw and a lighter note of caramel.
Has a light and refreshing mouthfeel with a sparkly, yet soft effervescence, creating a thirst quenching beer throughout.
Tastes of slightly tart yeast, rich wheat and dry hops among well pronounced caramel. The beer turns sweeter then, although a sprizzy, slightly metallic carbonation comes up, calming the malts in this at least a little with a cool touch. Finishes sweet and herbal with a lighter, toasty nuttiness, leaving the palate with a nice rusticness.
Well done Helles with balanced and thoughtful put together flavors.
