The appearance was a semi-dark burnt amber almost brown color with a quickly dissipating finger’s worth of white foamy head, sly lacing. The aroma takes some dark fruits, toast, Belgian yeastiness to combine with some sweet Belgian sugars. The flavor yields to the sweetness of the previously mentioned aromas. But that toastiness comes back to hit the taste pretty good. Toast takes the lead in the aftertaste with some dark fruits. Sweet Belgian sugary finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. ABV doesn’t seem to match what is labeled. Carbonation seems fine. Overall, decent as it comes across. But that toastiness seems to be a bit more forward than expected.
