Presentation: Draft, served in a snifter.
Appearance: The thin, half finger head goes away fairly quickly and leaves behind a small amount of lacing in spots. It's a beautiful, pure black color.
Smell: The smokey, burnt campfire wood aroma comes through first with hints of sweet malt and chocolate in the background.
Taste: It's mostly a strong, bitter, smokey dark roasted malt. Then it transitions into some softer, but still bitter, coffee and dark chocolate notes.
Mouthfeel: It's thick and oily but medium bodied with medium-high carbonation.
Overall: It feels a bit thin for the style but the smokey flavor and aromas are there. A good beer overall but too one-dimensional.
