Enjoyed a couple of pints while having lunch with Da Boss at the Morgantown riverside brewpub 5-22-23. Sat at the bar until an outside riverside table was ready. Inside has a big bar that serves alcohol and wine in addition to house and some canned and bottled guest beers. Lots of seating inside, guessing 125-175 capacity. Outside there were a handful of hightops adjacent to the the strand and the Cheat River. The strand was getting a lot of use on a Monday lunchtime.

Quality of the beers were pretty good. I had the Amber and the IPA. The house beer focus was on sessionability. Of the three i have had to date thought the amber was most enjoyable.

Service was okay. We had to wait 10 minutes to get acknowledged to find out only 2 servers were working outside so we had to sit at the bar for 25-30 minutes. Staff was pleasant. They were too busy to chat up so no gauging their knowledge.

Selection was pretty light considering how long this brewery has been around for. I did not focus on the non-Mountain State brews so do not know exact number available. Da Boss had a couple of lime margaritas, and they were very good.

Food was good, we shared a large Buffalo Chicken Flatbread pizza and large Buffalo Chicken salad. Would have again.

Overall a nice spot to hang out at and have a meal and a few pints at a nice setting. Beers are okay.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch and a beer when passing through the area. The rear of the pub enjoys a riverfront setting, so the covered patio was our choice for seating that day. No customers were sitting inside, and only a few tables were in use on the patio, so service was great. The interior of the building is a large space that is accented with log trim and wooden tables and chairs giving it a country vibe. The wood-fired brick oven that is the source of the pizzas on the menu sits in the middle of the dining area.

There were 5 house beers on tap, plus they offered two guest taps. (There is also 18 guest bottles/cans, incl. 3 ciders.) We chose a flight of their 5 beers so that we could evaluate them for this review. Each of them was brewed in excess of its respective style so that we gave an overall grade of B-minus to them. None of them were exceptional, but the Cold Trail Blonde and the Dolly Suds Cranberry Wheat (wit bier) were notable, although the cranberry wheat didn't have much fruit taste to it. This pub offers growlers to go. Beers are also available in pitchers. There is also a full bar.

The food menu was typical pub fare of sandwiches and wood-fired pizza, and our lunch selections were good. We detoured a little from our travel route to come here, and it was worth the trip.

Brewery/pub/restaurant. Limited available parking, bring change for meters. Great space and vibe. Huge wood fired pizza oven in middle of restaurant. Rustic look and decor. Great outdoor deck overlooking river. Attentive staff. Decent sized tap and bottle selection from other local breweries and national distribution. Lots of pluses on space and selection...this brewery makes avg. to below avg. tasting beer, and the food is the same...we didn't get the pizza ( which others rave about)...go for the experience, try their beer, enjoy local...

We jumped off the highway for a quick lunch stop on our way back from Kentucky. Mountain State operates a couple of pubs in addition to their production facility. This one overlooks the river in Morgantown.

Food was very good. Pork nachos, pizza and salad all hit the spot. The house beers were just ok for me but there was a very nice bottle list to supplement. Prompt, friendly service. I'd stop there again, and hope the beer is a bit better.
