Collaboration with Vanish Beer.
Being big fans of spring and the general shedding of winter, we went out to the farm to create our take on a spring style Helles/Maibock. The start of this project, we focused solely on the malts, using the Weyermann heirloom series, Barke, Vienna and Munich malts as our base, lending an unexpected color and layer to the base. These malts are specifically suited for clean, crisp lagers.
Adding first wort Hersbrucker allowed for a traditional layer and complexity, while finishing with the Lemon Drop variety, to compliment the dryer finish by adding a hint of citrus and earth tones.
