Canned 05/16/18
Appearance - Pours relatively clear and golden orange in color with a white, near finger width head. Fair retention leads to a mostly barren surface with a thin ring of suds encircling the edge of the glass. No lacing.
Smell - Pine upfront with lesser tangerine, mango and distant pineapple.
Taste - Moderate pine, citrus and some mango fruitiness upfront and throughout. Sweet, caramel malt undertone. Earthy dank character emerges near the finish, leaving an earthy, fruity bittersweet aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with low, tingly carbonation. Slick drinker but a flat, lifeless finish.
Overall - Good flavor but unfortunately the body is flat and boring. I was worried that this was gonna be in-your-face pine, and while it's a prominent character, it's fortunately balanced by some fruity hops and malty sweetness. If they can fix the carbonation issues, this one could be a winner.
