A solid place in Quito's old town, in a slightly sketchy area at night behind the market central. Unfortunately they don't open until 4pm, so you're almost assured in being there after dark. Take a cab, and no problems- don't be deterred. A mix of tourists, locals, and expats, busy and cheery with people talking and having fun. Service is very good, and everything comes out quickly, especially for Quito. Food is pub grub, not local cuisine, but well made, and ditto for the beers. Pretty much the only option in theb old town for a brewpub, although there are some other spots with craft beers.

Quito is an awesome place for craft beer in South America and this is the rare brewery that actually has a taproom. We appeared to be the only tourists in the place but that's what I like when I'm on vacation. Vibe is nice, stucco arches and it works well. Lots of nooks and crannies to sit in. The look fits the area. We tried a sampler of all 7 beers and had a couple pints afterwards; every single beer was very good or better which is a rarity for a brewery from the states and crazy impressive for one in Central or South America. None of the beers were overly bitter, even the IPAs, which is how I like them. I know that they sometimes use interesting, local adjuncts but my Spanish wasn't good enough to translate the beer list and verify. Prices were very reasonable, especially during happy hour. Service was good and about 50% of the employees seemed to speak English which was way more than usual for Ecuador (it's owned by expat Americans). Not just an awesome South American brewery, an awesome brewery by any metric.
