From a crowler, filled 04/07/17
Appearance - Pours relatively clear, only the slightest hint of haze (thus... imperfect?), golden yellow and with a half finger width, white head. Fair retention, resulting in a mostly barren surface and a fair ring around the edge of the glass. Strong lacing, with one nice thin, consistent sheet accompanied by broken lines and spotting.
Smell - Strong grapefruit aroma. Lesser pine and cattiness.
Taste - Follows the nose. Grapefruit dominant with lesser pine and catty character. Bready malt base that emerges as the brew warms. Fairly clean finish with lingering, bittersweet white grapefruit juice character.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Slick on the tongue; goes down smooth and easy.
Overall - I'm not sure exactly what flavors the 'experimental grapefruit' hop exhibits, but after drinking this I'm leaning toward thinking that it kicks with a lot of grapefruit flavor. :p
Certainly not anything close to a hazy NE-style brew, so the name is misleading. Pretty tasty beer though, all things considered.
