Tasting notes from 05/17/17
Had on-tap @ Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served in a pint, black with brown edging with a somewhat barren surface and thin ring around the edge of the glass. Fair lacing, mostly broken lines and some spotting.
Smell - The aroma is roasty and chocolatey. Not much else to it.
Taste - Follows the nose. Prominent Coffee roast with hints of caramel and chocolate. Slight earthiness. Finishes quickly, with lingering notes of the three aforementioned flavors and a hint of grain.
Mouthfeel - Light bodied with bitey carbonation. Slick texture with an easy, dry finish.
Overall - Nice coffee schwartz from Claimstake. Fully Flavored like a stout with the easy drinking of a lager.
