Poured from a crowler canned 11/10/17
Appearance - Pours hazy and straw yellow in color with a white, half finger head. Sub-par retention results in a mostly barren surface with a razor thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. A few spots make up the lacing, but not much expected.
Smell - The aroma is equal parts sweet, salty and tangy. Slight spice as well.
Taste - More tangy than sweet, with a nice punch of saltiness to boot. Fruitiness hits more on a rhubarb quality than guava, which is odd because it was brewed with guava. Slight spice in the finish to follow up on the tang.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with bitey carbonation. Crisp, dry and refreshing finish.
Overall - I know this is supposed to be a "guava creme brule", but I'll be damned if it doesn't have more of a rhubarb pie impression to it. I love rhubarb pie. They must bring this one back. They must bring this one back!!
