From tasting notes 12/20/17
Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a pint, its a murky brew and a tarnished gold in color with a thin film stretching across the surface. Fair lacing, with small patches of broken webbing and a tiny spotting.
Smell - Juicy mango and orange, with lesser vanilla.
Taste - Follows the nose, though the vanilla is more prominent. Starts with a juicy mango character before mild vanilla sweetness emerges. Slightly sweet and pithy orange bitterness is quick to follow, becoming the prominent force as the brew rounds to the finish, though the mango and vanilla can still be found. Aftertaste leaves mild pith with some juicy mango and mild acidity.
Mouthfeel - On the lighter side of full-bodied with moderate, tingly carbonation. Stupid slick with an easy, nigh chuggable finish.
Overall - Really tasty hazy milkshake IPA, but something is missing. Lacks ideal hop complexity, perhaps. Regardless, this is really good and I'm happy to be drinking it.
