Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a 13oz snifter, relatively clear and brilliant chestnut in color with a thin, broken layer of suds on top. Lots of lacing, with broken webbing and some spotting where the webs break.
Smell - The aroma is mild, with light earth, caramel, toasted malt and floral qualities.
Taste - Dank, earthy flavors upfront and throughout with mild toasted malt riding beneath. Faint floral character comes through mid-taste to add a bit of sweetness in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slick, smooth drinker with a silky finish.
Overall - A bit too dank for my tastes but no denying the quality behind it.
