Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a 13oz snifter, crystal clear and brilliant gold in color. Mostly barren surface with a thin ring around the edge of the glass. A few broken lines and some spotting for lace.
SmellĀ - Bready aroma with some fruitiness and faint hoppy character.
Taste - Follows the nose. Bready malts upfront before a spicy and slightly citrusy hop bite. Slight apple-ish esters emerge as it warms. Aftertaste is bready and spicy with faint pithy bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Light in body with fair, tingly carbonation. Crisp, dry and refreshing finish.
Overall - Pretty good flavor for a blonde, and damn is it a crushable and refreshing drinker. As blonde ales go this one is a winner.
