Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a pint, hazy and faded golden yellow with a thin, broken layer of suds sitting atop. Good amount of lacing, with broken webbing decorating the glass and some spotting where the webbing breaks up.
Smell - Lightly tropical with hints of passionfruit, melin, pineapple and lesser citrus. Distant bready sweetness.
Taste - Follows the nose. Prominent honeydew melon at first, then notes of pineapple and white grapefruit kick in. A touch of pine hits mid-taste, adding a subtle dank undertone as it approaches the finish. Aftertaste lingers with melony sweetness, lesser grapefruit pith and fading pineapple zing.
Mouthfeel - Light-bodied with a low amount of tingly carbonation. Smooth, easy drinker but the finish falls a tad flat.
Overall - Pretty damn tasty. Only knock is the mouthfeel which seems a bit thin and tends to flatten out quickly, but it's not such a deal breaker that a 4-pack isn't out of the question, in fact I'm drinking one now as I type this out from the notes in my phone.
