Poured into a 16oz snifter from a crowler canned 08/31/18
Appearance - Pours crystal clear and pure golden in color with a white, frothy head that displays fair retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of suds and a slightly thicker ring encircling the edge of the glass. A few small spots here and there make up the lace.
Smell - Fair amount of bread and fruity character on the nose. Hint of citrus, sweeter apple and faintly floral.
Taste - Follows the nose. Bready malts lay the foundation for the wonderful hop notes to play off; floral at first, but the a bright, slightly tangy note of citrus comes into play, at the same time a subtle, more sweet apple-ish ester can also be found. Hint of grassy bitterness in the finish, but well balanced and the bready malts hold firm as it fades in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Light in body with fair, lightly bitey carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a crisp, clean and slightly dry finish.
Overall - For a blonde, this brings some nice interesting depth in flavor, while also staying light and crushable. Session IPA's? Forget 'em. This brings the complete package. One of the few blondes I'd readily drink again, and one that I'll have to while it's still on tap.
