Had on tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a standard pint, relatively clear and pure copper in color with a broken layer of suds sitting atop. Good amount of lacing with broken webbing decorating much of the glass.
Smell - The aroma is classic IPA. Floral, citrusy and slightly piney with a touch of bready sweetness.
Taste - Follows the nose. Hops hit first with a bit of citrus, floral and pine character, while a light bready and toasty malt sweetness sits beneath. Finish turns grassy in bitterness, and it lingers long in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodiex with fair carbonation. Firm, slightly chewy texture before turning dry in the finish.
Overall - Claimstake's version on Sierra Nevada's recipe. What a fantastic idea and an overwhelming response from breweries all over the world. Truly a special and awe-inspiring concept that will hopefully be replicated in the future for similar disasters. For that I give it a perfect 5 overall.
