Had on tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a pint, nice auburn brown color with a mostly barren surface and a thin ring of suds around the edge. Fair lacing with some lines and small spotting.
SmellĀ - Fair aroma with hints of leafy hop, caramel and grain.
Taste - Malty sweetness upfront, with notes of toffee, caramel, lesser grain and mild cola character. Hops come in mid-taste with earthy, leafy bitterness. Nice balance in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium-to-full in body with fair, tingly carbonation. Slick drinker with a mostly dry finish.
Overall - Really solid wee heavy. Maybe not quite the depth in flavor as some of the best in the style, but this works for sure.
