Had on tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a pint, mostly clear and golden yellow in color with a thin, broken layer of suds sitting atop. Fair lacing with loose webbing, mostly.
SmellĀ - Herbal, piney and 'bright' lemony citrus.
Taste - Follows the nose. Herbal and pine upfront, then a touch of tangerine and lemon citrus kick in. Moderate grainy malt backbone. Aftertaste turns bitter with notes of grass and lemon pith.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with nice, bitey carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a crisp, mostly dry finish.
Overall - Well made brew, classic IPA, but the flavor profile doesn't quite do it for me. Maybe its the graininess?
