Had on tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up 10oz into hybrid snifter/chalice type glass, black with dark chocolate edging where light can partially penetrate. Thin, broken layer of suds sitting atop. Fair lacing, with thin, broken webbing, lines and some spotting.
SmellĀ - Chocolatey and creamy aroma with a bit of molasses and booze.
Taste - Follows the nose. Deep, fudgy chocolate with lesser cream. Some earthiness mid-taste. Molasses. Boozy bite in the finish. Aftertaste lingers with chocolate and molasses.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with low carbonation. Syrupy, sticky texture with a dry, warming finish.
Overall - First day on tap and it could probably use several weeks to smooth out and develop. Definitely one to revisit.

Thick and syrupy imperial stout. Sweet coffee and chocolate notes with a rich and decadent feel to it. It has some slight bitterness at the end but hides alcohol well! Nice!
