Had on tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a pint, clear and golden in color with a thin, broken layer of suds. A good amount of lave in the form of broken webbing, lines and small spotting can be found decorating the glass.
SmellĀ - Good citrusy aroma. Somewhere in that tangerine or lemon area. Lesser toasty malt character.
Taste - Follows the nose. Mmm. Citrusy notes of orange, tangerine and a hint of lemon backed by a sultry malt combination of toasted, buttered biscuit and a hint of caramel. Excellent balance. Finish adds a hint of spice and pine. Mild lemony aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick, slightly silky texture with a crisp and refreshing finish. This is a stupid easy drinker.
Overall - Delicious, and a great reminder that tasty ass West Coast IPAs are still being made, and sometimes they're a nice alternative to the barrage of hazies.
