Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Opaque and dull orange in color with a mostly barren surface. A handful of tiny spots make up a near absent lacing.
Smell - Sweet, fruity and definitely creamy. Vanilla ice cream with fruit toppings come to mind.
Taste - Follows the nose. Super creamy vanilla and a mild, sweet pineapple flavor are prominent here. Grapefruit is faint. Really tasty overall. Nigh chuggable.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slick, decently creamy texture before a somewhat dry finish. 3.75
Overall - Really tasty milkshake IPA. While not my favorite, I don't know that I've had one yet that has nailed that 'ice cream' part of the style quite like this one has. It is very much has that essence of drinking a melted milkshake.
