Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Pours mostly clear and golden orange in color with a thin, broken layer of suds on the surface. Good amount of lacing with broken sheeting, webbing and some lines.
Smell - Lemon, floral character, bread and caramel.
Taste - Lemony flavor upfront, then some floral and slightly soapy character comes through. Touch of caramel comes through as the brew warms and saves it. Finish is lemon pith, waning soap and that fair malt sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body fair carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a mostly dry finish.
Overall - Ocassionally I'll come across a hoppy beer that gives off a soapy vibe to my taste buds. SNPA comes to mind. Unfortunately this is one of them Much preferred last year's version.
