From tasting notes 10/29/19
Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a Willi pint, hazy and faded orange in color. Thin, broken layer of suds with a fair ring around the edge of the glass. Good amount of lacing, with thin but consistent sheeting covering the glass.
Smell - Fruity hoppiness, yeast and some light, earthy 'hay-like' malt aroma.
Taste - Follows the nose. Hops add notes of citrus, white grape, hint of pear and some floral qualities. Yeast and some earthen malts kick in mid-taste and mostly dominate the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Drinks smooth and easy before a slightly dry, slightly chalky finish.
Overall - Good raw pale, but not my favorite "'Kviek yeast' offering from them. Galaxy and Citra aren't my favorite hops, plus its a pale, so no surprise that I wouldn't like this quite as much as Ollag or Ivar.
