Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a 13oz snifter, black in color with a thin, broken layer of suds stretching across the surface, thickening up into a ring around the edge of the glass. Good lacing, with thin sheeting, lines and small spotting.
Smell - Chocolate, banana cream pie and a hint of coffee.
Taste - A plethora of flavors to unpack here, but all work well together. Chocolate, cream, caramel, coffee, cinnamon and... clove? Also getting a bit of a banana impression like on the nose. Chocolate, vanilla, roast and spice find themselves in a balanced finish.
Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with fair carbonation. Slick drinker before a dry, warming finish.
Overall - Interesting, unique beer, and tasty to boot. I'd be interested to know the exact spices used in this.
