Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a Willi pint, murky and rusty in color with a thin, broken layer of surface suds. A few broken lines and some small spotting make up a sub-par lacing.
Smell - Biscuit and buttered toffee sweetness, with a hint of floral hops.
Taste - Very floral hop presence, with a trace of lemon, then some toasted biscuit before a slight toffee sweetness comes through in the finish. Simple and light, but also quite refreshing.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with low carbonation. Slick and faintly creamy before a crisp, refreshing finish.
Overall - Maybe Claimstake's lightest red to date, but damn do the flavors work well together. This would kill in the warmer months.
