Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a Willi pint, hazy and with a light yellow-orange color. Thin, broken layer of surface suds, thickening into a ring around the edge of the glass. Sub-par lacing, with a few thin, broken lines and some spotting.
Smell - Soft, tropical aroma. Hints of pineapple, papaya and melon.
Taste - Follows the nose. Papaya at the forefront, with lesser melon, very mild pineapple and a trace of mango. Finish adds a hint of grass and faint, green pine.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slick, slightly silky mouthfeel makes this a super smooth drinker with a slightly refreshing finish.
Overall - Really nice, unique hazy. Soft, but flavorful and complex. I've never been a big Simcoe fan, but this one works quite well.
