Canned 12/22/20
Appearance - Pours mostly clear and with a golden orange hue and a white, finger width head. Sub-par retention before dying to a mostly barren surface with a thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Fair lacing, with broken lines and small spotting decorating the glass.
Smell - Prominent vanilla, candied citrus and some fresh pine character.
Taste - Follows the nose. Vanilla hits first, with a nice bit of fresh pine following closely behind that works well with the vanilla. Hints of orange and ruby red grapefruit as it rounds out to the finish. Aftertaste lingers with the vanilla holding victorious.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with low carbonation. Smooth, creamy texture before a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Very unique brew here. It's like a vanilla milkshake IPA with a nice, even dose of fresh pine. The pine note reminds me a bit of the Alaksan Winter Ale that added fresh spruce tips. Festive and quite appropriate for this time of year. It works!
