Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served in a Willi pint, slightly hazy and orange/salmon in color with a thin layer of suds atop that recede after a minute or so, leaving a mostly barren surface and a razor thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. A few tiny spits make up the lacing.
Smell - Really creamy aroma, vanilla ice cream, with a fair amount of strawberry to boot.
Taste - Follows the nose. Really creamy vanilla character from start to finish, with strawberry plying second fiddle. A touch of orange comes through in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Smooth, slightly creamy texture before a semi-dry finish.
Overall - I don't recall if Claimstake has made a milkshake IPA before or not, but this one is great regardless. The refreshing, creamy vanilla sweetness really shines here. Definitely one to have again.
