Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a Willi pint, slight haze and golden in color, with a thin, broken layer across the surface, thickening up as it nears the edges. Lacing is solid, with thick sheeting around the top, breaking into lines and spots as it descends and as it's found at it's edges.
Smell - Floral and biscuity. Then I pick up soap.
Taste - Floral and mildly soapy. Hints of biscuit and citrus. Finish continues with the soapiness, along with hints of pine, citrus and spice.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Drinks easy enough before a slightly dry finish.
Overall - Same kind of soapiness I pick up in Stone's old pale and SNPA. The hops are different, so maybe its in the boil? Regardless, most people don't seem to pick it up in those other beers, so unlikely they would pick it up with this one.
