From tasting notes 6/7/22
Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a can-shaped pint, hazy and glowing orange in color with a mostly barren surface and a fair ring of sides hugging the edge. A handful of small spits make up the sparse lacing. 4
Smell - Certainly tangy. Citrus and pineapple dominate the aroma, so much its hard to pick up much else. Something there but hard to pinpoint.
Taste - Follows the nose. Pineapple and tangerine are prominent, so much tang and zing that it nearly delves into sour ale territory. Lesser passionfruit. Touch of bready malt sweetness as it nears the finish. Aftertaste leaves pineapple zing and a trace of pith biting at the tongue.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, bitey carbonation. Crisp, easy drinker with a quenching finish.
Overall - Solid fruited hazy, but maybe a bit too aggressive with the pineapple has this delving more into sour ale territory than it does tropical hazy. It's pretty damn good, though.
