Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a Willi pint, hint of haze and bright orange in color Thin, broken layer of suds with a ring clinging tight on the side of the glass. Lacing is solid, with fair sheeting, breaking at the edges into small lines and spotting.
Smell - Citrus aroma, with a mint tea-like undertone. Interesting.
Taste - Follow the nose. Grapefruit-like bitterness hits first, mild orange sweetness, then some heavy pith. Hints of mint and black-tea earthiness. Also a hint of very mild lemon-like tartness. Aftertaste rings mostly with pith bitterness and a touch of the tart character.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodies with fair carbonation. Slick, smooth texture before a slightly dry finish.
Overall - A good beer with potential to be great and unique, but I think they went a bit heavy on the yuzu. It's almost overpowering. Wouldn't be a bad idea to scale back on it's addition if they ever brew this again.
